Celebrity, media and teenagers

Nowadays, many people are exposed to material they see or hear which affects the way they see the world.

Teenagers are the most common victims of the media because of their vulnerability. One of the main causes of this influence on them is celebrities behaviour.  Celebrities can change the way a teen looks at him or herself in the mirror, particularly in a negative one.

However, the major issue is they can lead a teen to purchase unrealistic items or even persuade them into thinking it is easy to become a celeb by attracting the wrong attention. Although there are many other issues I would like to point out, I would shift focus to another current problem I was involved in.

Most celebrities on Instagram are skinny, and this could make girls think this is the flawless ideal of beauty; Boys too, they try to emulate them by drastically restricting their eating and exercising to build muscle mass.

Finally, I would encourage them to build up their own personality and not to follow celebs’ stereotypes which are “forcing” us to all be the same that is against the human being’s nature.
