Our green lungs

Deforestation is probably one of the biggest matters in modern society which we’ll have to solve as soon as possible.
The need of natural resources it’s messing up with the ecosystem balances.
The answer to all of this is surely the technological revolution, and the fact that our society is based on fossil energies and we should definitely switch to renewable sources.
The Amazons got on fire last summer and this event got people internationally thinking and questioning about deforestation and his devastating consequences.
Think tank Climate Focus published a report which proves that because of technology development, deforestation is rushing at levels that could lead the planet to impede the prevention of climate changes.
But technology isn’t always a negative factor since the presence of orbital insights is helping many suppliers in monitoring their products and their growth, using satellite images to see what’s happening in landscapes around the areas from where it sources its cocoa, palms or soy.
Old smartphones are used to monitor illegal logging and other destructive activities in forests. San Francisco-based non-profit tech startup, Rainforest Connection recycles smartphones that are then transformed into autonomous, solar-powered listening devices that can pinpoint signs of deforestation and animal poaching at great distances.
This explains how technology development can be either damaging and protecting our environment but anyways we need to pay much more attention from now on because our lifestyle can cause irreversible damages.
