Military plane crashed in Paraguay. Seven dead and one wounded.

In the afternoon of 9 February 2021, a small military aircraft crashed into Paraguay, causing seven deaths and one wounded. The commander of the Paraguayan air force confirmed the death toll. The aircraft at the time of the crash was 100 meters high and was about to land on the runway of Silvio Pettirossi airport in Luque, when it suddenly crashed in a nearby earthquake, also causing some damage to cars parked there. Right after the crash, the military plane caught fire.

After the terrible accident it was decided to open an inquiry to understand what led to the plane crash and especially why, before falling to the ground, the military plane did not launch even an emergency message. To complicate things there is unfortunately the lack of the black box, in fact the aircraft was not equipped; therefore, it will be much more difficult to understand the dynamics of the facts. The military present in the cockpit did not inform the airport of what was happening, so the authorities were certain that the airplane was not experiencing any kind of problem and that the landing would be successful.

According to General Paredes, the two soldiers may have tried to make an emergency landing at the last minute, but the plane crashed. Here’s the general’s statement: ‘It was unexpected and sudden because we didn’t get any reports of any emergency situation. The vehicle was checked periodically and always scrupulously. Its maximum capacity was eight people, we were in full rule’.

As for the wounded civilian, he was immediately taken to the hospital, where after making all the necessary checks was declared not in danger of life.
