Il protagonista della triste vicenda è stato Antonio Parisi, attivista della comunità omosessuale del Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Il pestaggio è avvenuto intorno alle 20 di martedì 16 febbraio, poco dopo la chiusura del locale dove Antonio e i suoi amici avevano trascorso il pomeriggio. Il tutto è iniziato quando Antonio, in compagnia di alcuni amici, è stato aggredito da un ragazzo riguardo al suo abbigliamento. Inizialmente la situazione non sembrava grave, infatti il ragazzo si è scusato di aver commentato il modo di vestire di Antonio. Successivamente però Antonio e i suoi amici sono stati aggrediti dal giovane e da altri due ragazzi.
Antonio in seguito allo spiacevole accaduto ha deciso di postare una foto sul suo profilo Facebook del suo volto e dei suoi vestiti insanguinati. Poi, Antonio ha deciso di rilasciare un’intervista spiegando il movente di questo pestaggio. Egli afferma: ‘ Se la sono presa con me e con chi e con chi era con me fin da subito, appena sono entrato nell’osmiza, solo per come ero vestito’. Parisi ha inoltre raccontato che uno dei ragazzi che era seduto su un tavolo lo ha notato e ha avuto da ridire per ciò che Antonio stava indossando, ma la situazione si era risolta con le scuse del ragazzo; o almeno così sembrava. Appena usciti dal locale Antonio e i suoi amici si sono diretti al parcheggio dove è poi scatta la lite: ‘Non so bene cosa sia successo: un pestaggio incredibile, ero a terra, ricordo solo calci e pugni in faccia. Poi sono scappati’ afferma Parisi.
L’episodio ha suscitato rabbia e indignazione da parte di tutti, ma non sono mancati commenti inappropriati, come quello del consigliere comunale di Trieste Fabio Tuiach, ex esponente della lega, che su Facebook ha scritto: ‘ Un esponente LGBT è stato picchiato e scoppia il caso omofobia Trieste, siamo in campagna elettorale e succede ogni volta ma forse ha litigato con il fidanzato per la vasellina. Grande solidarietà da parte di tutte le forze politiche ma ricordiamoci che in più di un terzo dei paesi al mondo non esiste il problema omofobia perché per i gay c’è il carcere o la pena di morte. Noi avevamo il rogo un tempo, mentre in Russia c’è la legge antigay come in tutto l’est e per questo loro non accolgono palestrati che fuggono da pesi omofobi’.

Gay activist attacked in Trieste.
The protagonist of the sad story was Antonio Parisi, activist of the homosexual community of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The beating took place around 20:00 on Tuesday 16 February, shortly after the closing of the club where Antonio and his friends had spent the afternoon. It all began when Antonio, in the company of some friends, was attacked by a boy about his clothing. Initially the situation did not seem serious, in fact the boy apologized for having commented on the way Antonio dress. Later, however, Antonio and his friends were attacked by the young man and two other boys.
Antonio decided to post a photo on his Facebook profile of his face and his bloody clothes. Then, Antonio decided to give an interview explaining the motive for this beating. He states: ‘They took it with me and with whom I was with immediately, as soon as I entered the osmiza, only as I was dressed’. Parisi also recounted that one of the boys who was sitting on a table noticed it and had to complain about what Antonio was wearing, but the situation had resolved with the boy’s apology, or so it seemed. Just out of the club Antonio and his friends headed to the parking lot where is then the fight takes place: ‘I do not know what happened: an incredible beating, I was on the ground, I only remember kicking and punching in the face. Then they ran away’, says Parisi.
The episode aroused anger and indignation on the part of all, but there were inappropriate comments, such as that of the Municipal Councillor of Trieste Fabio Tuiach, former member of the league, who wrote on Facebook: ‘An LGBT member has been beaten up and the homophobia case Trieste breaks out, we are in the election campaign and it happens every time but maybe he had a fight with his boyfriend about Vaseline. A great deal of solidarity from all political forces but let us remember that in more than a third of the countries in the world there is no homophobia problem because for gay people there is prison or the death penalty. We had the stake once, while in Russia there is the antigay law as in all the East and for this, they do not welcome bodybuilders who flee from homophobic weights.’
