Female toponymy – Ada Lovelace Byron

On the second Tuesday of October it is customary to celebrate Ada Lovelace day, to remember the woman nicknamed the enchantress of numbers and mother of modern computing. Ada Lovelace Byron, Lord Byron’s unrecognized daughter, was approached by her mother to scientific studies and distinguished herself above all in the field of mathematics. Ada Lovelace’s analytical skills led her to write the first computer program, an algorithm for calculating a number from the Bernoulli series without calculating the previous one.
