In all large cities there were traffic problems. Since 2007, cities have started a program to try to improve the situation.
The scheme allows people to take a bicycle, use it for as long as they want and then leave it in the same place or another place. This innovation allows people not to buy a bike but to use it for a long time and leave it wherever they want. To use the bikes, people pay only € 1 per day or € 29 per year. These bikes are heavy, weigh around 25 pounds, are gray and have all the baskets. The special design means thieves probably won’t steal them. Of course, the bicycle program may not solve all of our traffic problems. But it could reduce the levels of pollution in the atmosphere.
There are various types of bicycles, normal ones, those with assisted pedaling, this means everyone can use them. This program does not work in all cities, only where there is the possibility in the sense that there are not many salts but the road is all flat. For example in Catania, there are places where you can rent them but since we don’t have the possibility to go there, due to the lack of cycle paths, hardly anyone does.
In my opinion, starting to use bicycles, electric cars instead of petrol cars or mopeds would help us a lot to have a better city.
