A VIRTUAL TRIP TO NEW YORK

Miravilius is a streaming platform that organizes live events around the world, thanks to the immediate availability of tourist guides who are present in the place you would like to visit so that you can talk or ask questions to them.

I’m still very young and I have visited a few cities so far, anyway, I must say that every time I come around an unknown city, and get in touch with a different culture or a different way of relating to everyday life, I always experience a mixture of inexplicable feelings. These emotions aren’t even closely comparable to any other emotions we might feel until we will be able to travel again. In the meantime, virtual travel can be an excellent alternative.

During the pandemic, in a moment of wistfulness, I was surfing on the internet and discovered Miravilius. Soon after, I found myself traveling to New York.

It was 9 p.m in Italy, while in the “Big Apple” it was 3 p.m and I was traveling the city with my guide: Enrico, who has been living in the U.S. for 13 years. With his mobile phone that could frame the beautiful streets of the city of New York, Enrico showed us many fabulous places, for example, the Dakota Building, an antique palace, built in 1880 that was the first apartment building specifically designed for the wealthy upper class. The building is also a magnificent masterpiece of architecture of that period .

The Strawberry field, a wonderful teardrop-shaped garden simply left me enchanted because of its peculiar central mosaic with the inscription “Imagine”.

Our guide then took us to Central Park, more precisely to the Bethesda terrace, which is a characteristic terrace, thanks to its acoustics (it is frequently filled with acoustic musicians and singers) and the majolicas which contribute to create an incomparable atmosphere particularly suitable for ceremonies.

To finish this tour at its best, Enrico took us to the most romantic place in Central Park: The Bow Bridge. It is the longest cast iron bridge in the world and connects two key parts of the park. Our guide was very well prepared and satisfactory and he answered all the questions he was asked.

I would make a similar trip and recommend it to everyone because it taught me so many new things about America. This virtual trip lasted an hour, which in my opinion isn’t enough to see everything in depth, but I was happy to participate in this trip that can be an inspiration for a future trip to America, NOT VIRTUAL THIS TIME!!
