House of Gucci

Ridley Scott’s last film, House of Gucci, is set in Italy and tells the story of the famous Italian brand Gucci, from its rising to its success and fall, focusing in depth on the murder of the founder, Maurizio Gucci .

The movie is based on Sara Gay Forden’s novel  “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed” (2001).

Maurizio Gucci was brutally killed on his way to work on 27th March 1995 by a hit man hired by his wife Patrizia Reggiani.

The film stars Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, playing Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci.

Being shot in Italy not only the events, the protagonists and the actors themselves happen to be extraordinary, but even the landscapes shown are terrific.

The main set was built in Rome, despite the first scenes recorded took place in Gressoney-Saint-Jean, Aosta Valley (the cover picture was also taken there).

The cast then moved to Milan, the actual core of the film. Sequences were shot in the city centre (Duomo Square and Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery) and in the nearby, such as in the gardens of University of Milan (Università degli Studi di Milano), inside the Central Station and in what is called “Quadrilatero della moda” (a city area characterized by luxury boutiques and jewelleries).

Despite the set being restricted some of the fans managed to take some pictures of the actors during the shooting or during pauses.

Afterwards, they moved to Lake Como were they shot scenes in Villa Balbiano and sequences on country road 72 on a Fiat 124 Sport Spider Pininfarina.

The marriage footages were taken in Rome, in the Jewish church of Santa Maria in Campitelli, and others were shot in Via Condotti and in the residential district Talenti.

The film is expected to be released in November 2021.
