Louis Tomlison is a singer, an actor, he is passionate about football, a judje of the “ X Factor UK”, tv programme, but he is mostly a young boy who had to suffer untimely deaths in his family very early on. His professional successes have interwined with great pains in life. Louis was born on 24th of december 1991 in Doncaster from Johannah Poulston and Mark Tomlinson who will remain together just for few months because of their separation. In the year 2016 the songwriter at the age of 25 years lost his mother because of the leukemia and just three years later he had to face another important loss, his sister, who died because a cardiac arrest. He grew up in a big family, infact he has five sisters and one brother from his mother, and two other brothers from his mother’s last relationship. Before achieving success he worred as a waiter, then he had small parts in some television series, finally he participated in the X Factor UK tv programme first as a soloist, and only later, because or his exclusion from the tv programme, Simon Cowell in 2010 makes him join a band known as “ One Direction” which had immediate popularity among young people. In just five years the band has released five albums, all of which have been highly successful. In 2016 the musical group decided to “take a break”, with the intention of each individually undertaking a solo career. For their achievements they have garnered seven Brit Awards, seven American Music Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards. In 2012 they are proclaimed “Top New Artist” by Billboard, a US magazine dedicated to music. He has been involved in several charities in honor of Believe in Magic, an organization that supports children who are terminally ill. In an interview he said: “Being my age and being able to have a position where I can help people and give opportunities to other people is the most exciting thing for me”. In 2015 he became a father, an experience that totally changed his life. His latest album by him was released in 2020 under the title Walls and has received many nominations by winning in different categories of which the latest victory dates back to 2019 as Choice Single: Male Artist. I started listening to his music a little over a year ago, during the time of the pandemic. His songs kept me company and allowed me to spend my days with less loneliness. My favorite song is called “Two of us” which he dedicated to his mother. In addition to being an artist, I really appreciate him as a person for being able to face dark moments in his life, choosing to share the existences of his success with those most in need.
