France, may 30, 2022. Found dead “the Seine orca” the animal had been located on May 16 between the port of Le Havre and the city of Honfleur in Normandy.
A group of experts had tried to bring back, with sonar techniques, the orca in its natural habitat, the salty water of the Channel Sea, but with no results. Then it came to discover a very serious disease for the killer whale that killed her.
The animal’s body will be towed to the banks of the Seine. The French prefecture said: “The lifting means will be positioned to allow veterinary surgeons and expert biologists to carry out an autopsy and sampling operations, aimed at gathering as much information as possible and to try to establish the causes of the wandering and death of this killer whale ”.
