First chip in the human brain

Recently, Elon Musk, the founder of Neuralink said they are close to implanting chips in the human brain that work as an interface to computers. He also said that testing could begin by the end of the year. Neuralink is a start-up founded by Elon Musk that studies the neural interface (brain-computer). The company was born with the aim of wanting to use technology to replace brain functions compromised by trauma or neurodegenerative diseases. The founder of Neuralink cited in this regard the tests done on a monkey, in whose brain was implanted a chip that allowed it to play video games with the mind. It should be noted that the launch of the first tests on the human brain does not depend only on Neuralink but also on the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), the institution that regulates the tests and the path to market entry of all the medicines and devices for medical use. Together FDA and Neuralink are working to make the chips safe. Talking about the
aesthetics of this chip, it is a very small device that is implanted flush with the skull and charges wirelessly. The ultimate goal of this start-up is to cure damage to the brain or spine by recovering lost capacity with the implantation of this chip. Facebook is also funding a  project that, through algorithms, will be able to translate brain activity into words and will
thus be able to give voice to people who are mute due to neurodegenerative diseases.
