Si chiamava Salvador Rolando Romas, aveva 18 anni e martedì 24 maggio, a Uvalde, in Texas, Stati Uniti, ha massacrato a colpi di fucile quattordici bambini della “Robb Elementary School” e due maestre. Ha ferito poi altre persone, prima di essere ucciso dalla polizia.
Martedì mattina, Romas spara alla nonna, ferendola gravemente, per poi dirigersi verso la sua ex scuola elementare di Uvaldo, con due fucili, acquistati legalmente e con indosso un giubotto anti-proiettile, per fare fuoco contro gli alunni e le docenti.
I compagni di scuola e i colleghi di lavoro al Wendi’s lo descrivono come una persona solitaria e silenziosa. Aveva una madre tossico dipendente, ed è stato vittima di bullismo da parte dei sui ex compagni per la sua balbuzie e per la sua situazione economica. Questo è solo un altro dei tanti casi, un altro massacro che avviene nelle scuole, le stesse scuole che dovrebbero essere sicure e isolate da questi spargimenti di sangue, le scuole dove ogni giorno i genitori lasciano i propri figli e dove gli insegnanti si recano per svolgere il proprio lavoro.
Dopo la sparatoria, Joe Biden ha dichiarato: “Dobbiamo agire, dobbiamo trasformare il dolore in azione… Perché vogliamo rassegnarci ai massacri? Perché continuiamo a lasciare che questo succeda”

Salvador Rolando Romas neo 18, from Uvalde in Texas, United States. His schoolmates and his work colleagues at Wendi’s describe him as a solitary and silent person. He had a drug addict mother, and was bullied by his ex classmates for his stuttering and financial situation.
He is the same boy that on Tuesday 24 May shoots his grandmother and goes to “Robb Elementary School” his former school, and killing 21 people including 14 children and 2 teachers, with one of the two guns bought a few days earlier. Romas was after killed by the police.
This is just another of the many cases, another massacre that takes places in schools, the same schools that should be safe and isolated from this bloodshed, the schools where parents leave their children every day and where teachers go to do their job.
Joe Biden said: “We have to act, we have to transform this pain into action (…). Why do we want to resign ourselves to the massacres? Why we keep letting this happen”.
