Investigation improvements in the disappearance of Maddie McCann

The mysterious case that shocked everybody. Foreign DNA found in the apartment

It has been 13 years since Madeleine McCann, a three-years-old British toddler, went missing in Praia de Luz (Portugal) while she was on a vacation with her family.

It was the 3rd of May, the little girl was sleeping with her two siblings, while their parents were having dinner with their friends at a restaurant nearby their apartment. Her parents, Kate and Gerry, checked on their children throughout the evening, until Kate made the devastating discovery: Maddie vanished around 10 p.m.

The media started to speculate a lot about Kate and Gerry’s innocence, after assuming a possible covered accident that would have caused Maddie’s death.

However, the parents and the Policia Judiciaria (PJ) continued the investigation until 2011, when it was declared that there was a stranger involved in the case. In 2015 the inquiry was reopened and in June 2020 there was a macabre find: a foreign DNA was found in Madeleine’s room.

Apparently, it was identified as Christian Brueckner’s, a middle-age German man previously accused of child sex abuse, possession of minor pornography and pedophilia.

He supposedly kidnapped, raped and killed her. He is just the prime suspect, due to the fact that there are not enough evidence and proofs.

To sum up, this is a very touching story for the entire world, despite the fact that it is still unsolved.
