Etna and the black rain

In recent days, the towns at the foot of Mount Etna have woken up with a blanket of lava ash that has covered roads and lands. The “mountain” often remembers its presence and the roars and lava flows, arouse many concerns. These phenomena, in addition to the micro-shocks felt in recent days, caused a huge fallout of lava ash that mostly affected the north-east side, causing many problems for road traffic.

The municipal administrations of those territories, in agreement with the local prefecture and the central government, have issued a state of emergency thanks to which it will be possible to obtain the necessary resources for street cleaning and disposal of lava ash. To measure the inconvenience, in some of the municipalities on the north-east side, the transit of two-wheeled vehicles was inhibited, making it dangerous for the ash carpet. This is but the umpteenth alarm that Etna represents; we remember in 2018 when a strong earthquake hit a large area, forcing many residents to leave their homes rendered unusable and forced to sleep in their cars. In these days, numerous vehicles for street cleaning have appeared on the streets of the municipalities concerned, trying to ensure normal local activities as soon as possible. Restoring the conditions of circulation as soon as possible is as much as possible for man to the extent that the “mountain” will make it possible.
