Magic or reality? Let’s find out with Harry Potter!

There are many sensations that come from reading a good book, or reading a good book, when then this book almost comes to life in your mind then it becomes magic. And it is precisely of magic that this book is about. But wait, does magic really exist? and what is magic? follow me and we will find out.

Harry Potter is a literary saga consisting of seven books, written by J.K Rowling. His debut with the first writing was in 1997, an history born at first as a children’s book and discarded by several publishing houses, but which then finally published led to inevitable success. The seven books have been then translated and published all round the world and they have become also eight film produced by Warner Bros studios. The Harry Potter phenomenon has created one of the most active fan communities on the web worldwide, demonstrating how a children’s story has quickly become a never-ending story in a literary world.

My judgment is very biased, but since I’ve read and re-read the books and watched the films over and over agains, I’ve become a real fan, who never tires of witnessing the magic that not only the story tells, but the magic that resides in the pleasure of reading or seeing a masterpiece of this genre. A success, in my opinion, very right for a saga that adapts to its small or large reader, enchanting with fantastic characters or capturing the delicate balance of a growing teenager.

In my opinion saying that the story told in these books is childish and of a low literary weight is very reductive and simplistic, if it had been just a simple fairy tale for children, it wouldn’t have had such a prominence for over twenty years , and it wouldn’t have had millions of plays as soon as it appears on TV.

But it’s true that it’s a good story, Harry Potter, the main character, with his best friends faces a journey, discovers that he isn’t just a normal boy but a wizard, is hijacked in an unknown world where magic is the key and must face an enemy. A fairytale in all respects, if we want to see it that way, but in reading the books I saw the story of an outcast boy who finally finds his place, who discovers values such as affection, friendship, love. This made me believe that everyone of us has a destiny, and we can find this destiny even in the strangest place that exists, or with the people that we least expected.

In this story there is no lack of adventure, that for teenagers ,such as me, it’s like a wild card that makes us escape from our everyday life.

In the books there are faced many topics, perhaps in the form of magic to make them less scary but still part of our daily life, such as fear in the form of a dark shadow, or more precisely a boggart, but which is then canceled by a comic thought enclosed in a Ridikulus”; this made me think that in the eyes of a child facing the bogeyman, or the monster in the closet, can be less scary if there is a touch of magic on our side. The saga also deals with higher themes such as that of the confrontation between social classes, pure blood magicians and inferior Muggles by birth not worthy, this aspect often reminds us of forms of bullying and racism in general; of the relationship between children and adults, such as the relationships that harry creates with his professors as Albus Silente ; the importance of courage, altruism, forgiveness or how friendship helps to face multiple trials.

As you can see Harry Potter is not only a simply story, but it’s a book that makes us travel and makes us go through an inner growth through the eyes of a child who becomes an adolescent and then an adult, who faces the world of good and evil like us and who, thanks to values such as honesty, love, fidelity manages to fulfill his dream of being a magician.

Never stop only at appearances when you read a book, there is always a story behind it that is worth reading and living it.

I have read and reread this saga several times, I identified myself with the most famous wizard in the world, I got excited and I grew up with Harry Potter, because the magic of those pages has captured not only me but millions of other people. This book has transported us beyond reality perhaps for a day or perhaps forever changing us, seeing us grow like its real characters.

And now, to conclude, the only thing that I can say it can be nothing other than: Happy reading
