“Who would you take to a deserted island?” is a Spanish drama film directed by Jota Linares and written by Paco Anaya, based on the homonymous play. It is set in the modern Spain and describes the story of four best friends and roommates, who share different dreams, but also some secrets, that will put their friendship in a dangerous position.
Marcos, Marta, Eze and Celeste’s lives are about to change: all of them are ready to leave the house they are sharing to follow their dreams and look for a better future, maybe abroad. Almost the whole film is set during their last night together, when the four of them will find out the truth about each other, and decide if they are going to accept it or run away from it.
I loved the realism of this film, because it makes, in my opinion, a very clear statement: always follow your dreams, but remember that you’ll have to deal with your real identity and with the fact that dreams don’t always come true.
And what about you? Who would you bring on a deserted island? Who is that friend you would be able to completely trust and share your every hope with?

È ambientato nella Spagna moderna e descrive la storia di quattro migliori amici e coinquilini, che condividono sogni diversi, ma anche alcuni segreti, che metteranno la loro amicizia in una posizione pericolosa.
La vita di Marcos, Marta, Eze e Celeste sta per cambiare: tutti sono pronti a lasciare la casa che condividono per seguire i propri sogni e cercare un futuro migliore, magari all’estero. Quasi l’intero film è ambientato durante la loro ultima notte insieme, quando i quattro scopriranno la verità l’uno sull’altro e decideranno se accettare o fuggire da essa.
Ho apprezzato molto il realismo di questo film, perché manda un messaggio molto chiaro: segui sempre i tuoi sogni, ma ricorda che dovrai fare i conti con la tua vera identità e con il fatto che i sogni non sempre si avverano.
