Elon Musk, a well-known South African-born billionaire entrepreneur, co-founder and head of Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink and The Boring Company, recently said that Tesla will have level five autonomous driving in 2021. This statement was released in an interview with Mathias Döpfner, CEO of the media group Axel Springer SE and president of the Federation of German Newspaper Publishers. Tesla’s CEO says his company will have level five self-driving cars by the end of 2021, a system that allows the car to drive perfectly on its own, with no need for a driver, pedals, or steering. The levels range from the lowest, level one, now passed, up to five. The best cars of the latest generation have a second level system. Finally, in a tweet Elon Musk said he was confident that FSD (full self-driving) will operate at a level of safety well above that of the average driver.
