Planet of the humans

“Planet of the humans” is a documentary produced by Michael Moore, an intellectual interested in politic, who criticizes different aspects of American society and administration of the government of the right side. In this case he moves a critic to the environmental association, making a footage in which he merges a lot of formal interviews to famous ambientalist leaders. The question he tries to find an answer to is “Do non-fossil energy actually replace fossil fuels?
Ozzie Zehner, one of the respondents, claims that is just an illusion that renewables can replace or are somehow different from fossil fuels. Indeed those alternative technologies such as wind turbines or solar panels are made of materials that have to be mined out constructed by processes that involve fossil fuels. In addition they cannot provide enough alternative energy to save the planet and satisfy the request of the population because of their intermittency so fossil fuel is needed as well. He talks also about the biomass, which is classified as source of renewable energy. The problem is that it came from cut and transported trees, which are burned to produce energy.
In conclusion Michael Moore says that “We must accept that infinite growth on a finite planet is a suicide” and that “Is not Co2 destroying the planet, it’s us” so we must get things under control.
